Rapid Penetrant T Nicknames: Penetrant OT, Penetrant T Chemical name: Diisooctyl maleate sulfonate (sodium sulfonated succinate) Molecular formula: C20H37O7SNa Molecular weight: 444 Structural formula: 1¡¢ Performance and Usage Advantages: Rapid penetrating agent T is an anionic surfactant with the characteristics of fast penetration, uniformity, wettability, emulsification, and excellent foaming. Disadvantages: Not resistant to strong acids, alkalis, heavy metal salts, and reducing agents. Solubility: Rapid penetrating agent T is soluble in hydrophilic solvents such as water and lower alcohols; It can also be soluble in solvents such as benzene, carbon tetrachloride, kerosene, and petroleum. The aqueous solution is milky white, and the pH value of a 1% aqueous solution is 6.5 ¡À 0.5. Permeability: The penetration effect is evenly displayed, with the best effect when used at temperatures below 40 ¡æ and pH values between 5-10. After being treated with a penetrating agent, silk fabrics and other fabrics can maintain their permeability without being affected by changes in temperature, acidity, or alkalinity. Mainly used for fabric penetration, printing and dyeing, pesticide emulsification, leather making, mineral processing, etc. 2¡¢ Quality and technical indicators Project indicators: Appearance: Colorless to yellow viscous liquid PH value (1% aqueous solution) 6.5 ¡À 0.5 Permeability (1% aqueous solution) ¡Ü 5 seconds Solid content% 50 ¡À 2 3¡¢ Usage 1. Dyeing of raw cotton: For example, cotton yarn is treated with a solution of penetrant T 2 g/L, which is heated from room temperature to 95 ¡æ. After 20 minutes of treatment, it is dehydrated. After cooling, it is rolled, bleached, cleaned, and dechlorinated. After cleaning and dehydration, it is treated once with rapid penetrant T using the above method, and the raw material can be returned for dyeing. 2. Primary refining and bleaching of raw cotton products: During the refining and bleaching process, the raw cotton products can be first treated with a rapid penetrating agent T solution at 20 ¡æ for 5 minutes, then other agents can be added, and gradually heated to 80-90 ¡æ within 20-30 minutes. Continue processing for 45 minutes. If the cotton shell has been removed, it can be dyed. The dosage of penetrant is generally 2-3 grams per liter. 3. Raw cotton products need to be refined, bleached, and dyed in one go. This method requires the selection of direct or reactive dyes that are resistant to oxidants. The dyeing preparation only requires the addition of dyes in the first refining and bleaching process of Method 2, and the process operation method is the same. 4. Viscous products cooking: Viscous products generally have low temperature strength and are not resistant to strong cooking. Adding fast penetrating agent T to the cooking bath can shorten the time by 2 hours, thereby reducing the damage to fiber strength. 5. Use of asbestos products: produce foam asbestos, add water and asbestos into the refining pool, then add rapid penetrant T, fully mix and mix it into paste, then add it into the mold, heat it in the drying room and bake it for molding, and the amount of penetrant T is 10~15% of asbestos; The production of dust-free asbestos line is the same as the production of foam asbestos. After beating, it is added to the brace mold and sprayed into strips. After being treated with fixing agent Y solution, it is solidified into asbestos strips with a certain tensile strength. After being cooled and dried, it is processed into lines and cloth. The amount of penetrant is 15-20% of asbestos. 6. Usage in the leather industry: soaking treatment of dry board leather. Generally, penetrant T and JFC are mixed in equal proportions for use. Soak or strengthen certain mechanical effects under conditions of 25-36 ¡æ for treatment, and the dosage of penetrant T is generally 0.5-1.0%; When used as leather filler, the mixture of penetrant T and filling resin sizing agent can reduce the surface tension of resin lotion and improve the permeability. Generally, the amount of rapid penetrant T is about 10% of the filling resin. 4¡¢ Packaging and storage Rapid penetrating agent T is generally packaged in plastic drums, with each drum weighing 50 kilograms or packaged according to user requirements; Store and transport general chemicals in a dry and ventilated place; The shelf life is two years. 5¡¢ Precautions 1. The penetration effect of fast penetrating agent T is best below 40 ¡æ, and it is more prone to hydrolysis when exposed to alkali at high temperatures. Therefore, it is advisable to first treat the fabric with penetrating agent T below 40 ¡æ and then raise the temperature. Used in the production of asbestos products, beating asbestos into pulp below 40 ¡æ and then heating it to around 200-300 ¡æ for baking has no effect on the product. 2. Rapid penetrating agent T is not resistant to strong alkalis and cannot be directly added to concentrated alkaline solution. The alkaline solution should be diluted before adding. 3. Fast penetrating agent T belongs to the category of anionic surfactants and cannot be used in the same bath with cationic surfactants and dyes. 4. When refining and bleaching raw materials, it is best to first remove the slurry to ensure the penetration effect. 5. If rapid penetrant T is found to have too much foam, a small amount of octanol, tributyl phosphate and other defoamers can be added for defoaming, or AL-602 foam free foam inhibitor can be used.
