Application of fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants
¡¡Hits£º397¡¡AddTime£º2023/11/20 15:28:31
The structure of fatty amine polyglycerol ether type surfactants is shown in the following figure: the hydrophilic group is also composed of hydroxyl and ether bonds, but the substitution of hydroxyl and ether bonds changes the situation of polyoxyethylene ether type non ionic surfactants that mainly rely on ether bonds. After being dissolved in water, in addition to forming weak hydrogen bonds with hydrogen atoms in water through oxygen atoms on ether bonds, the latter can also interact with water through hydroxyl groups, Therefore, fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants can achieve good water solubility with fewer glycidyl addition numbers. Therefore, the hydrophilicity of fatty amine polyglycerol ether type surfactants is significantly stronger than that of polyoxyethylene ether type surfactants. In addition, fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants also have the structure of organic amines, making them possess some characteristics of both non ionic and cationic surfactants. When the addition number is small, they exhibit the characteristics of cationic surfactants, such as acid resistance but not alkali resistance, and certain bactericidal properties; When the addition number is large, the non ionic property increases, and it no longer precipitates in alkaline solutions. The surface activity is not damaged, and the non ionic property increases, while the cationic property decreases. Therefore, the incompatibility with anionic surfactants weakens, and the two can be mixed for use.
Used in the washing industry
Fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants exhibit different properties with different addition numbers: when the addition number is small, they exhibit the characteristics of cationic surfactants, increasing their solubility at low temperatures and exhibiting good washing ability over a wide temperature range; When the addition number is large, the non ionic properties increase, and they no longer precipitate in alkaline solutions, leaving the surface activity undamaged. Due to the increase in non ionic properties, the cationic properties decrease. When combined with anionic surfactants, it can significantly reduce surface tension, improve emulsification and wetting ability; The hydrophilicity and steric hindrance of polyoxyethylene chains also have a significant inhibitory effect on the precipitation or coagulation phenomenon of detergents. In addition, fatty amine polyglycerol ether has certain softness and anti-static properties, so it can solve the problem of poor hand feeling after washing fiber products.
Used as pesticide emulsifier
Fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants not only have the good emulsification effect of non ionic surfactants, but also have the bactericidal and disinfection effect of certain cationic surfactants, becoming a "multi effect" mixed surfactant: they can increase their turbidity and solubility at low temperatures, thereby greatly increasing their temperature adaptability as pesticide microemulsions. Aliphatic amine polyglycerol ether is a mixed surfactant with high efficiency in forming O/W micro lotion, which can reduce the amount of surfactant and reduce the cost.
Preparation of antistatic agents
Fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants can form a continuous water film on the fiber surface through hydrophilic group bonds, hydroxyl groups, and water molecules through hydrogen bonds, thus having good moisture absorption and conductivity. They can also reduce fiber friction and reduce static electricity generation by hydrophobic oil film on the fiber surface, and exhibit a soft and smooth effect. In addition, the hydrophobic part of fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants is similar to that of fatty amine polyoxyethylene ether surfactants, and the hydrophilic part has stronger hydrophilicity due to the addition of glycidyl instead of ethylene oxide. Therefore, its moisture absorption and conductivity are stronger than general polyoxyethylene ether surfactants. Moreover, the toxicity and irritation of fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants are much lower than those of cationic surfactants, making them promising as excellent antistatic agents.
Preparation of mild personal care products
In the process of preparing fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants using glycidyl, the formation of dioxane can be avoided due to the alternating ether and hydroxyl groups in the structure of fatty amine polyglycerol ether, rather than the predominance of ether bonds. Its safety is higher than that of polyoxyethylene ether surfactants. Moreover, there are a considerable number of hydroxyl groups in fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants, which enhance their hydrophilicity and reduce their irritation, making them more gentle for the human body. Therefore, fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants are used to prepare mild personal care products, especially for infants and young children.
Application in pigment surface treatment
Xu Yanli's research found that non ionic surfactants of the fatty amine type can have a good effect on the surface treatment of phthalocyanine green pigments. The reason for this good effect is that these surfactants can be adsorbed onto the surface of the pigment by forming hydrogen bonds between - H in - OH and - NH and the nitrogen on the surface of the phthalocyanine green pigment, and their hydrophilic hydrocarbon chains form an adsorption coating film, The formed coating film can effectively prevent the aggregation of pigment particles during the drying process, thereby inhibiting the continuous growth of grains and obtaining crystalline fine pigment particles. This treated pigment rapidly dissolves into a solvation film in organic media due to its good compatibility with hydrocarbon chains, making it easy for pigment particles to disperse and also preventing their flocculation when they approach each other. This effect is strengthened with the growth of the hydrocarbon chain and the thickening of the solvation film, which is conducive to the refinement and narrow distribution of pigment particles. Its hydrophilic group is hydrated to form a hydration film, which can effectively prevent the flocculation between pigment particles and make them easy to disperse.
Fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants have stronger hydrophilicity and can form thicker hydration films. Therefore, pigments treated with fatty amine polyglycerol ether surfactants are more easily dispersed in water and have smaller particles, indicating that they have good application prospects in the surface treatment of pigment phthalocyanine green.
