The role of using rapid penetration agents
¡¡Hits£º26¡¡AddTime£º2025/12/26 17:25:54
Rapid penetration agent is a type of chemical additive that can significantly reduce the surface tension of liquids, promote the rapid penetration of liquids into the interior of solids or the interface between two incompatible substances. It is widely used in textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking, leather, agriculture, industrial cleaning and other fields. Its core functions can be summarized into the following five categories, which are explained in conjunction with specific application scenarios:
1¡¢ Accelerate penetration and improve processing efficiency
This is the core function of rapid penetration agents.
Principle: By reducing the surface tension and contact angle of the liquid, the liquid changes from a "water droplet like" to a "spreading" state, quickly penetrating into the micropores, gaps, or fiber gaps of the solid.
Typical Applications
Textile printing and dyeing industry: Adding fast penetrating agents during fabric pretreatment (desizing, boiling, bleaching) can quickly penetrate the fibers with alkaline solution, bleaching solution, etc., shorten the treatment time (such as shortening the boiling time from 6-8 hours to 2-3 hours), improve the removal rate of pulp and the uniformity of bleaching.
In the field of industrial cleaning: for oil stains, rust stains on metal surfaces, or stubborn stains inside equipment, penetrants can drive cleaning agents to penetrate into the bottom layer of the stains, breaking the adhesion between the stains and the substrate, avoiding the problem of "clean surface, residual bottom layer", especially suitable for cleaning complex structural components such as gears and bearings.
In the agricultural field, as a pesticide additive, it can promote the rapid penetration of pesticide solution into the cuticle of plant leaves, or into soil crevices to contact pests and weed roots, improving pesticide utilization and reducing pesticide loss.
2¡¢ Wetting and dispersing to improve system uniformity
Rapid penetration agents have the function of wetting agents, which can solve the problem of "incompatibility" between solids and liquids.
Principle: Reduce the interfacial tension between solid and liquid, allowing the liquid to fully wet the solid surface and prevent solid particles from aggregating.
Typical Applications
Coatings and Ink Industry: Helps pigments and fillers to quickly disperse into resin systems, avoiding clumping, improving the uniformity and adhesion of coatings, and reducing defects such as shrinkage and pinholes in paint films.
Paper industry: In the process of sizing and dyeing, promote the uniform penetration of sizing solution and dye into pulp fibers, improve the sizing degree and color fastness of paper, and avoid the occurrence of "spotted paper".
Leather industry: Make tanning agents and fatliquoring agents evenly penetrate into the gaps between leather fibers, improve the softness and fullness of leather, and reduce the phenomenon of local hardness or oversoft.
3¡¢ Emulsification solubilization, stable mixed system
For systems where oil and water are incompatible, fast penetrating agents can act as emulsifiers to enhance system stability.
Principle: The molecular structure contains both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups, which can be oriented and arranged at the oil-water interface to form a stable emulsion film, dispersing the oil phase into small droplets suspended in the water phase.
Typical Applications
Metalworking fluid: in the emulsified cutting fluid, the auxiliary emulsified oil and water are mixed to form a stable lotion, and at the same time, the cutting fluid is promoted to penetrate into the contact part between the tool and the workpiece, which has both lubrication and cooling effects.
Daily chemical industry: used for laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent and other products to help emulsify oil stains on the surface of clothing or tableware, and improve stain removal ability.
4¡¢ Synergistic efficiency, reducing the amount of additives used
Rapid penetration agents can work synergistically with other additives such as cleaning agents, pesticides, and dyes to enhance overall effectiveness and reduce the amount of main agent used.
Typical Applications
Industrial cleaning: When combined with alkaline cleaning agents, the penetrating agent drives the alkaline solution to quickly penetrate into the bottom layer of oil stains, enhancing the efficiency of saponification reaction and reducing the amount of alkaline agent used by 20% -30%, thus lowering cleaning costs.
Pesticide application: Compound with herbicides and insecticides to enhance the adhesion and penetration ability of the pesticide solution on crop surfaces, reduce pesticide volatilization and loss, decrease pesticide usage, and reduce environmental pollution.
5¡¢ Improve processes, reduce energy consumption and costs
Due to the ability of penetrating agents to accelerate the processing and improve uniformity, they can indirectly optimize production processes, reduce energy consumption, and overall costs.
For example, in textile pretreatment, penetrants can shorten the high-temperature boiling time and reduce steam consumption; In metal cleaning, the cleaning temperature can be lowered (from 80 ¡æ to 40-50 ¡æ) to reduce heating energy consumption.
Key precautions
Type matching: Rapid penetration agents are divided into anionic types (such as JFC), non-ionic types (such as T), etc., and should be selected according to the pH value and system type of the application scenario (such as avoiding anionic types in acidic systems and choosing alkali resistant types in alkaline systems).
Dosage control: excessive addition will lead to excessive foam, which will affect subsequent processes (such as printing and dyeing washing, washing and rinsing). The best dosage (usually 0.1% -2%) needs to be determined through tests.
Compatibility: When compounded with other additives, compatibility should be tested in advance to avoid problems such as delamination and precipitation.
