Polyethylene glycol series products are non-toxic, asexual, slightly bitter, have good water solubility, and can be well compatible with many organic components. At the same time, they also have very smooth, moisturizing, dispersibility, adhesives, antistatic agents and softeners, which make their use more convenient. PEG is prepared from ethylene oxide and water or ethylene glycol by gradual addition reaction. Its raw materials mainly come from petroleum products. PEG is a polymer of ethylene oxide and water. It is a white waxy flake or powder solid, odorless or has a small odor. It is non-toxic, asexual, water-soluble and has good compatibility with many organic components. They are smooth, moisturizing, dispersible, adhesives, antistatic agents and softeners. They are widely used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemical fibers, rubber, plastics, paper-making, paint, electroplating, pesticides, metal processing and food processing industries. With the increase of degree of polymerization, the physical appearance and properties of PEG change gradually. The relative molecular weight of PEG is liquid at room temperature from 200 to 600, and the relative molecular weight of PEG is semi-solid at room temperature. With the increase of molecular weight, the moisture absorption decreases correspondingly from colorless, odorless and thin liquid to waxy solid. It has the chemical properties of alcohols and reacts with fatty acids to form esters. It is soluble in water, ethanol and various organic solvents. It is stable to heat, acid and alkali, and has no effect on many chemicals. It has good hygroscopicity, cohesion and smoothness. Nontoxic, nontoxic. It is harmless to people and animals. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) has a strong water absorption property. It can absorb water from the air at room temperature. The liquid can be mixed with water in arbitrary proportion. When the temperature rises, the solid PEG of any fraction can be dissolved with water in arbitrary proportion. When the temperature reaches the boiling point of water, the polymer will precipitate and the precipitation temperature depends on the polymerization. Molecular weight and concentration of the compound. PEG is a non-ionic polymer. It is stable under normal conditions. It can oxidize with oxygen in the air at 120 C or higher. It is maintained by inert gases such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen. It does not change at 200-240 C. When it rises to about 300 C, the molecular chains break and degrade. PEG can be divided into several series according to purity difference, such as medicine grade, cosmetic grade, food grade and industrial grade. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is widely used in food, pharmaceutical, feed, personal care products, chemical and other industries. In the consumption of medicine and cosmetics industry, it can be used as a matrix to adjust the viscosity and melting point, as a pharmaceutical paste and so on; in the rubber and metal processing industry, it can be used as a smoothing agent and coolant to enhance the grinding effect and enhance the luster of metal appearance; in the consumption of pesticides and pigments industry, it can be used as a dispersant and emulsifier; in textile industry, it can also be used as a dispersant and emulsifier. It is used as antistatic agent and smoothing agent in industry, wetting agent in papermaking and pesticide industry, moisturizing agent, inorganic salt solubilizer and viscosity conditioner in daily chemical industry. |
