[ Physical properties ] : odorless and sweet. Soluble in hot alcohol, chloroform, benzene and carbon disulfide, insoluble in water, petroleum ether, ether and cold alcohol. The melting point is about 55 ¡ã C.
[ Function and use] This product has the functions of emulsification, lubrication, hardening, etc. It is used as an emulsifier, lubricant, ointment base, etc. in the medicament. Commonly used in the manufacture of creams, ointments, suppositories, lotions, etc. This product is also a food additive used in the manufacture of emulsified foods, cakes, etc. It is also widely used in the daily chemical industry for the manufacture of various daily chemical products such as creams, soaps, shampoos, waterproof papers and adhesives. [ Application examples]
1. Milky anti-perspirant: 2.5 g of glyceryl tristearate, 3.5 g of glyceryl monostearate. 0.3 g of octadecyldimethylamine, 0.5 g of liquid paraffin, 0.1 g of lactic acid, 1 g of diethyl amide, 40 ml of 50% basic aluminum chloride solution, and distilled water to 100 ml. The usual method is to make an emulsion.
2. Massage cream, lanolin 10g, liquid paraffin 30g, white petrolatum 20g, white wax l0g. Glycerol tristearate 5g, glyceryl monostearate 2.5g, borax 0.2g, Pluronic 0.5g, flavoring agent, antioxidant amount, distilled water added to l00g, usually made into a cream.
[ Compatibility changes] This product reacts with strong oxidants and acids to oxidize and decompose. When it reacts with alkali, it forms soap.
